We are pleased to share that our non-profit Butterfly Wonderland Foundation has been granted $5,000 from Cox Charities to help us fulfill our mission of creating an appreciation of nature through conservation and education of the butterflies and our rainforest.
We are one of several local non-profit organizations receiving a portion of $480,000 statewide in funding this year from Cox Charities. Grant funding comes from donations provided by Cox employees. This year, Cox Charities is marking 20 years of giving with nearly $7 million in donations provided to Arizona non-profits focusing on youth and education.
One of our biggest areas of impact as well is right here in the community — the Butterfly Wonderland Foundation is committed to helping local children in need. This year alone, we have assisted underprivileged children at 85 Title 1 schools, in addition to allocating funds to the important work of ECOLIFE, Monarch Watch, Monarch Butterfly Fund and the Southwest Monarch Study. Along with important grants such as this from Cox Charities, a portion of your membership to Butterfly Wonderland goes towards supporting these important causes via our Foundation.
We are grateful for Cox Charities’ recent grant and for our members’ generosity, which allows us to continue to make a difference in the lives of our community’s children as well as in the world around us.
