What are you doing in response to COVID-19?
Butterfly Wonderland continues to follow local, state, and CDC guidelines to provide a safe place to visit. In order to comply with local SRPMIC directives, masks are required for all guests ages 2+, regardless of vaccination status. We ask all Guests to work together to maintain the CDC suggested distance between parties. We continue to manage capacities and recommend purchasing general admission tickets in advance. General Admission tickets require a date and time for entry. Our Team Members continue to sanitize high touch areas. Team Members that do not feel well are asked to stay home and we ask our Guests to do the same.

How much is the cost of admission and what does my ticket include?
Please click Here for current pricing or call us at 480-800-3000. Admission includes all day access to all the exhibits within Butterfly Wonderland. You may exit and re-enter as often as you would like throughout the day.
Am I allowed to leave Butterfly Wonderland and return to finish my visit?
Yes, you may exit and re-enter the facility throughout the day to enjoy the restaurants, shops, and entertainment at Arizona Boardwalk. Guests will need to show their ticket if they would like to leave and re-enter again.
Do my tickets ever expire?
All tickets are valid for ONE year from the date of purchase. The date of purchase can be found on the front of your ticket. Tickets are not refundable.
Is there a military discount available?
Yes, a military discount is available for all active service men and women with a valid ID. Please present ID at Butterfly Wonderland ticket window to receive discount.
Do you offer a group rate?
Yes, we offer group rates. Click Here to complete our Group Reservation Request Form. Once your reservation form is received, our Groups Coordinator will contact you with additional information.
What else is there to see/do at Butterfly Wonderland?
In addition to our Conservatory which hosts thousands of tropical rainforest butterflies, we also have the Chrysalis Emergence Gallery (where you get to see butterflies emerge from their pupa), Rainforest Reptiles, Spineless giants (insects from the rainforest), Tropical Waters (rainforest aquatic life).
How long is the movie and what is it about?
The movie is a little over 14 minutes long and is a 3D film about the remarkable journey of the Monarch Butterfly’s yearly migration!
How long does it take to get through the facility?
Visit times can vary, but we recommended allowing a minimum of 1.5 hours for your visit to our exhibits.
What is the climate like inside the Conservatory?
Our conservatory offers a remarkable “Rainforest Experience” that is teeming with life! The temperature inside the conservatory hovers around 80 degrees and humidity is roughly 80%. Please dress accordingly.
Can I touch the butterflies?
We ask that our guests not touch the butterflies, as they are extremely fragile and not meant to be handled in any way. However, should a butterfly land on you by choice, anywhere other than your hands, that is perfectly fine.
Can I take pictures?
Yes! Our exhibits provide a multitude of photo opportunities. Tripods are NOT permitted in our Conservatory, however monopods are welcome.
What is the cost for parking?
Parking is free throughout the complex.
Do you offer hearing assistance for the hearing impaired?
Yes, we offer hearing assistance devices for people with and without hearing aids. Please inquire at our Guest Services desk. A valid photo ID is required for all rentals.
Is the 3D movie close captioned?
Yes, our 3D film has closed captioning available in English, Spanish and French. Please let our Theater Attendant know if Closed Captioning is needed and we will be happy to accommodate you.
Do you have Wheelchairs?
Yes, Butterfly Wonderland has a limited number of wheelchairs available on a first come, first serve basis. Wheelchairs are located at the Guest Services desk. A valid photo ID is required for all rentals.
Are Service Animals permitted in the facility?
Butterfly Wonderland is in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and permits services animals in the facility. Please refer to code 11-1024 “Service animals: rights of individuals with disabilities; violation; classification definitions” within Arizona State Legislature. The state of Arizona only recognizes dogs and miniature horses as service animals. Service animals must always be under the control of the owner and should remain on a leash or harness. Butterfly Wonderland reserves the right to disallow a service animal from entering the building or certain areas within, as defined in code 11-1024.
Can we bring a stroller?
Strollers are permitted in the building, apart from the Conservatory (due to USDA regulations). There is a designated “stroller parking area” where strollers can be kept while guests visit the Conservatory.
Can we bring food inside the building?
Outside food is not permitted in Butterfly Wonderland, apart from formula or snacks for individuals with food allergies. The Butterfly Cafe practices strict food safety guidelines to bring the safest, highest quality menu offerings to Butterfly Wonderland.
Do you have food and drink for purchase?
Yes, our Butterfly Café offers a variety of hot food items, yummy sandwiches and salads, snacks and drinks!
What items are prohibited in the Conservatory?
Restrictions include, but are not limited to, the items listed below:
- Flowers or other plant material
- Food or drink (water is permitted)
- Photography tripods
- Recreational devices with wheels, such as Segways, skateboards, hover boards, balance boards, scooters, inline skates, or shoes with built-in wheels.
- Pets or other animals, except for approved service animals as defined in AZ code 11-1024. Service animals must always be under the control of the owner and should remain on a leash or harness. Butterfly Wonderland reserves the right to disallow a service animal from entering the building or certain areas within as defined in code 11-1024.
- Any other items that are determines as suspicious, harmful, unsafe, or disruptive.
Do you have lockers?
Butterfly Wonderland does not provide lockers for guest use.
Do you have Wi-Fi?
Yes, we have guest Wi-Fi. Log in credentials are located at our Guest Services desk.
Do you have a Lost and Found?
If you have lost an item, please visit the Guest Services Desk in the lobby and someone will be able to assist you.
Is there a smoking area at Butterfly Wonderland?
Butterfly Wonderland is a smoke free facility. Smoking any tobacco products or electronic cigarettes is strictly prohibited.
Do you have a gift shop?
Yes we do! Our Butterfly Treasures Gift Shop offers a plethora of themed gifts and handmade items available for purchase.
